What Workers Need to Do. Now.

The pilot may already be running. Not as paranoia. As recognition of reality that makes what comes next actionable.

Retraining doesn't mean learning to use AI tools and calling it done. It means understanding what type of human value remains irreplaceable and building your career around that intentionally. Before the Monday email arrives.

If you work in technology, enterprise consulting, data analysis, or any role where AI is starting to demonstrate it can do what you do — faster, cheaper, without rest, without vacation — there's something you need to understand without softening it:

The pilot may already be running.

I say that not to generate panic. I say it because it's the only way what comes next is actionable. Companies don't announce their pilots to the teams being evaluated. It's part of the methodological design. If your work is highly structured, follows predictable patterns, can be documented in a runbook and executed in an established order, the probability that an AI agent can replicate it is increasing every quarter.

The right question isn't 'is my job vulnerable?' Probably yes, in some part. The right question is: 'What am I building on top of my current work that cannot be archived?'

Which dimensions of what you do require you as a human — your network of relationships, your capacity for empathy, your systemic vision, your unstructured creativity, your ability to navigate political and organizational ambiguity — to function?

Are you investing time in developing those dimensions? Or are you perfecting more and more precisely the parts of your work that AI agents will absorb first?

Retraining doesn't mean learning to use AI tools and calling it done. It means understanding what type of human value remains irreplaceable and building your career around that intentionally. Before the Monday email arrives.

Key takeaways from this section

The pilot may already be running

Companies don't announce evaluations to the teams being evaluated. If your work is highly structured and documentable, the probability of AI replication increases every quarter.

The right question

Not 'is my job vulnerable?' The right question: what are you building on top of your current work that cannot be archived? Which dimensions require you as a human to function?

Real retraining

Not learning to use AI tools and calling it done. Understanding what type of human value remains irreplaceable and building your career around that intentionally — before the Monday email.
